I set a goal to have a section done before I go to bed. Sometimes it is hard to make time when I work full time as a high school art teacher to produce my own work. Lucky for me I am teaching printmaking this trimester and have the press out. Most of the time I would get a letter back saying that I was not chosen for this show. Please try again next year. One thing you have to remember with art shows is that it depends on who is <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">juring</span> the show. <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Becasue</span> one year you can get in and the next you won't. Sometimes it is discouraging and I want to give up. Then I a statics always pops into my mind, and that is only 10% of all artist that graduate with an art degree make a living out of art. I have told myself that I want to be that 10%. Right now I work as a high school art teacher, and I love <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">teaching</span> the kids art. I want to teach my students that you can be an artist and sale your work to. To teach them this I need to sale my art and get it <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">circulating</span>.<br />My big break came last night at 10 o'clock at night. I just gotten back from Salt Lake <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">chaperoning</span> the debate team, and found a letter from the St. George Museum of Art. With encouragement from my art buddy Shannon I had sent in a painting for the "Zion National Park 100<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">th</span> Birthday" art show. To my surprise my piece "<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6">Kolob</span> Fingers" had been accepted. The letter stated that I was 1 of 68 art pieces that had been chosen out of 500 <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7">applicants</span> from 38 states and many <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8">foreign</span> countries. I was so excited that I tried to call people, but most of them had turned their phones off.<br />Getting in to this show has made me more <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9">excited</span> to create art, and get it out of my <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_10">trailer</span> and into the homes and collectors alike.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/1611556574022190304-1929145425402889401?l=artofchristaj.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>christajsart@gmail.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06573254205660198069noreply@blogger.com0
